Q: What is your relationship to other Jewish senior living communities?
A:
Chai Point enjoys a working relationship with the Sarah Chudnow Community and the Jewish Home and Care Center, enabling the residents to partake in activities and services offered on any of the campuses.

Q: What kinds of care do you offer?
A:
Chai Point offers independent and assisted living apartments in one location. Choose from one, two, or three bedroom apartments for independent living and one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments for assisted living. Chai Point also offers community based residential living with studio and one-bedroom apartments.

Residents living in the Senior Apartments have the availability to purchase nursing assistance and other services on an à la carte basis. Our Assisted Living licensure offers up to 28 hours per week of combined nursing services to meet the needs of individuals who may require assistance with their activities of daily living.

The Lakeside Senior Enrichment Program provides a kosher noon meal, wellness programs and fun activities during the day. It’s open Monday-Friday.

The Adult Day Center provides a safe, secure, social and recreational program for individuals who needs more care during the day.

Q: What can I expect as my health care needs change?
A:
As your health care needs change, our team of professional nurses along with our Therapy Department and Social Services Professional are available to evaluate your overall level of independence. If desired, a support program will be developed and tailored specifically for you. A support program can provide assistance with dressing, bathing and mobility, and is intended to provide you as much support as you want or need. In most cases a resident can receive assistance through a support program all the while remaining in their current senior apartment!

Q: What do you mean by “traditional” Jewish setting and will I be comfortable in that setting?
A:
Religious, activity and dietary staff members incorporate Shabbat and Jewish holiday observance and life cycle celebrations into daily campus life. Chai Point follows kosher dietary traditions. Non-kosher foods may be enjoyed in the residents’ apartments and designated public areas throughout the campus.

Q: How do you meet the spiritual needs of residents?
A:
Chai Point employs a director of pastoral services and invites religious and spiritual community leaders to participate in Chai Point programming. Programming is varied, including Shabbat services, Friday night dinners, holiday observances, guest lecturers, music and much more.

Q: Can I afford Chai Point?
A:
Looks can be deceiving. Although our campus is big, beautiful and located in one of the most desirable areas of the city, it is surprisingly affordable. We offer a wide range of living and pricing options to suit virtually any budget. You can live in one of the premier Milwaukee area locations for a lot less that you may think!

Q: How much money do I have to put up front?
A:
Unlike many other senior housing communities, we do not require anyone to pay a large entrance fee up front. Other facilities will charge from $150,000 to even $500,000 just to get in the front door, and that does not include your monthly rent!

Here at Chai Point, we understand that you worked hard for your nest egg, and you shouldn’t have to give it up. That is why the only money you will need to put up front is a deposit equal to one month’s rent, period.

Q: What is included in my rent?
A:
Included in the rent are:

  • ALL utilities: gas, electric, water and air conditioning.
  • individual storage locker
  • private USPS mail box
  • maintenance of apartment and grounds
  • social activities
  • regular shopping excursions

Q: What about activities, programs, exercise? How will I keep mentally and physically active?
